This photograph was taken on my cameraphone, and then enhanced a little to bring out the detail. It was a dreadful day, and my girlfriend and I decided to go play on the beach (yes… I know … we’re both crazy). Aside from a huge wave dumping on us – and we squelched back to the car at that point), we had a fabulous hour!

The black mass in the background you can see is the burnt-out shell of Hove’s West Pier (photo taken on a slightly better day).

Bodiam, Near Robertsbridge.

I’m not able to do a ‘live’ shot today due to commitments, so this is from my “favourites” file of previous Sussex photographs I’ve taken over the years. A shame that I couldn’t fit the whole castle in with the lens I had available to me when I took the shot some time ago on an aging Nokia N70, but I think quite nice nonetheless.

The castle is owned by the National Trust, and is a good day out with lots of other excellent heritage examples within 30 minutes driving distance. Further information on Bodiam Castle can be found on the National Trust website.

Saint Peter’s Church, York Place, Brighton.

I was driving to work today and whilst waiting at the traffic lights I was struck by how glorious the church looked with the sun beaming down on it. A brilliant capture courtesy of the traffic light sequence of East Sussex Highways. Proper camera not to hand, so this is my second adhoc camera-phone shot!

Hampshire Avenue, Bognor Regis.

Whilst driving to do the weekly shopping this cloud and sun alignment really caught my eye. It was a very windy day so it didn’t stay for long. I just had time to pull over, grab my cell phone (I was cameraless that day otherwise), and snap this picture. Moments later the cloud had shifted and the sun disappeared once more.
