This little guy was at the SaboTaj protest on the 24th February. Ostensibly I attended to take photographs of the protest (and did), but I couldn’t resist the perfect timing of the expression on this guys face.

In the heart of a council estate on the outskirts of Brighton is an abundance of posts, signs, CCTV poles and traffic monitoring devices. But perhaps one of the more ‘stand out’ signs happens to be this one, which glares at you ominously as you leave the newsagents on the corner of Barcombe and Newick Road.

As a matter of history: behind the sign, on the opposite side of the road you can see a beautiful wooded area, known locally as Wild Park. This was the site of the Babes in the Wood murders back in 1986.

Personally I’m not generally one to like graffiti, but this piece of work I actually find stunning. Taken in the morning dawn not long after the sun came up, on my way home from work this morning. The colours seemed to really beam out. In the background is one of the many new apartment blocks that have sprung up in the area of late, although which one it is I’m not quite sure!

Double-parked (good old taxi’s!) opposite the Tesco Express petrol station on Dyke Road.

This shot is looking West towards Hove, with Chartwell Court silhouetted against the darkening skies. It took me a few moments to get my camera to work which is a shame, as some of the hues had gone by the time I was ready to start snapping. If you can imagine many more hues of oranges and reds and yellows than is present in this photo, then you’ll know what I was staring in awe at before coming to my senses and reaching for the camera.
