About

… Sussex

sussexSussex is a historic county in South East England. It is bounded on the north by Surrey, east by Kent, south by the English Channel, and west by Hampshire, and is divided for local government into West Sussex and East Sussex and the City of Brighton and Hove.

Sussex is home to many of England’s greatest geographical assets including The South Downs, The Weald, and mile upon mile of rivers such as the Adur, Arun, Ouse and Cuckmere. Truly an area of immense natural beauty, 365 days a year.

Sussex In Focus… Sussex in Focus

Sussex in Focus offers you the opportunity to witness the evolution of the grand counties many of us are proud to call home.

… The Photographer

Hi! My name is Lee. My daily commute at all times of day and night gives me a real opportunity to capture Sussex at its very best. I am by no means a professional at this, I just capture what I like, and hope others like them too.

My other blogs were in danger of becoming  photoblogs and flying completely off-topic, so Sussex in Focus was born.

… The Equipment Used

dmc-fs3As I said I’m not a ‘pro’, and the cameras I work with reflect that. If I’m prepared then photographs will be taken with my 8MP Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3, a lovely compact digital camera that copes well in a variety of situations. If I’m caught short, which isn’t unusual, then snaps are captured with my 5MP HTC Desire smartphone.

In February 2011 I finally bought a digital SLR camera to take my photography to ‘the next level’. As much as I would have liked a super-huge pro camera, I settled on a Canon 550d. This had not only superb reviews, but also 18MP, and a great toolset for taking my photography to the next level.
